THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW IN THE RETREATS

Meals and Accommodation

Meals are strictly monastery-style vegetarian only; outside food for personal consumption is prohibited.

Accommodations are provided in the Monastery’s four of five buildings to retreat participants.  Men and women reside in separate buildings.  The rooms are usually shared by 2 – 4 people with a common bathroom in hallway.  No private or semi-private accommodations are available onsite.

The Monastery provides bunk bed with bed board.  The visitors must bring their own bed sheet, blanket, sleeping bag and pillow.  Please note that during the retreat, camping on the Monastery grounds or staying at local hotels or motels is not allowed.

Guests wishing to stay overnight must inquire at least a week prior to the planned visit and is subject to availability.

What to Bring and NOT to Bring

Meditation clothes can be purchased onsite, or you may bring loose-fitting clothes, muted in color of your own for meditation.  You may need additional clothing for indoor and outdoor work, and outdoor walking or working shoes or boots are also recommended.  You will also need to bring your own toiletries, towel, flashlight, bed sheet, pillow, and sleeping bag or blanket.  Children are not accommodated during the retreat programs designed for adults.

During the retreat, participants are not allowed to use musical instruments, MP3 players, computers, cell phones or radios.  Outside foods, pets, alcohol or illegal drugs are prohibited.
